To improve the socio-economic condition of distressed people and alleviate poverty, hunger, and disease a group of educated and socially motivated people of Rangpur district formed “Humanity In Distress (HID)” a social welfare organization in 2001 to help deprived, distress and less privileged people since the beginning the organization had worked with individual and members donation and implemented several programs in collaboration with local and other NGOs. The overall affairs of the organization are managed by an Executive committee composed of seven members whereas the Governing body consists of twenty-eight members. The organization has its own constitution duly approved by the Social Welfare Department, Rangpur. This organization is created for the implementation of the programs undertaken for the socio-economic development, education, health, and training of the neglected, distressed, and poor people of Bangladesh and for the participation of the social service-oriented programs of the Government.
